OPI On Her Majesty's Secret Service + giveaway reminder!

Today is the last day to enter my 100,000 Pageview Giveaway! I'll announce the winner tomorrow and the lucky lady will have 48 hours to e-mail me to claim the prize. Are you sick of me pimping it? I'm sorry. But doooooooo eeeeeeeet.

Are you also sick of seeing OPI Skyfall swatches? If you are, I'm sorry about that, too ... but can we talk about how awesome the movie was some more? The end. HO. LY. SHITSNACKS. Unlike my father***, I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it, so if you can't restrain yourself in the comments, feel free to e-mail me. I'd love to hear your thoughts. I will say this (for the third time), however: If James Bond requires a bed or a shower or lady parts for sexytimes ...

(source: the internet? all of Tumblr? but if this is your .gif, please tell me so I can credit you!)

I did not care for "The Hunger Games," but that .gif is appropriate on so many levels for a myriad of hypothetical occasions.

Anyway, here is another OPI Skyfall polish I didn't think I needed until I saw it in person at Ulta. I stopped by the day Sandy was supposed to hit my neck of the woods, and lo and behold, the entire collection was in stock. I grabbed this and Live and Let Die, thinking that if I hated them, they would at least be easy swaps. (And that is how I sometimes get into trouble with my wallet.)

Four coats with SV.

I have no idea how to describe this polish, though the first thing about it that springs to mind is the SMELL. This one was a real stinker. I'm not sure if it was something in the pigment, but some polishes I own *do* contain a similar smell, specifically China Glaze Frostbite and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wears Pacific Blue and Wet Cement. Anyway, it's nothing that you won't notice once you slap on some top coat.

The formula was pretty sheer and thin (it reminded me of OPI Warm & Fozzie), though I suspect this consistency helps the foily shimmer particles shine with each coat. The good news is that this dried more quickly than I thought it would; the bad news is that I had slight tip wear after a few hours of wear. I wore this for two days with no chips. It does give me lobster hands in some lights, but I think I'll keep it for now. If it bugs me, I'll always have OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous and Your Royal Shine-ness to fall back on (both great buildable, silvery grey metallics).

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is currently for sale at Ulta, beauty supplies, and generally any OPI retailer and e-tailer. If you want this polish, you'd best get it while this collection is out for the gettin'!

Is this polish a must for you, or are you able to resist it? How nutty is it that I blogged two polishes from the same collection in a timely manner? (Wut.)

Do you have any awesome weekend plans (other than entering my giveaway, of course ... one more time now)? Are you going to see "Skyfall" or even "Lincoln"? I haven't seen the latter yet, but I'll probably have a lot of love for it because it was shot in and around Richmond, #RVA WHOOP WHOOP. Today, though, I will be embarking on an afternoon of Parisian adventure with a friend (I'll explain later) and making a birthday cake for BF. I'll try to have pictures, especially of the cake.

***He accidentally spoiled my mom re: a certain character. WAY TO GO, DAD. WAY. TO. GO.

    1. OH DUR. Thank you for mentioning this! I completely forgot to put it in my review. I hear this polish is just as stinky as FeiFei, though. Haha.

No judging. I generally enjoy the kitsch until I can't, but the Daniel Craig reboot made me sit up and pay attention.

  3. Yeah YAY Richmond! I'm going to go thru and weed thru my enormous stash and put on a huge blog sale to make room for the ones I do want to keep. I do not like this polish-but I did get three for the skyfall collection.

Thank you for checking out my little nail blog! I do read and appreciate your comments and/or feedback, although it might take me a few days to get back to you. Time-sensitive inquiries should be directed to my e-mail address (rachswatched@gmail).

Please be polite and respectful when responding to others' comments in a post; if you are rude, I will delete your comment and Hannibal Lecter will eat you. Please don't leave spam comments with blog links -- it's tacky and I don't do it. Neither should you.
