Three coats with SV.
These last two photos had to be enhanced juuuuuuuust a pinch to get the color right. This is more of a very yellow orange in some light -- it darkens a little bit after top coat.
I think the color is pretty close to some mango varieties, although the mangos aren't exactly THAT orange. Anyway, I promise this is NOT a mac-and-cheese orange/yellow. It's not quite neon, even though it dries matte. --Again, I don't know how close this is to Dior Mango, but I really think you could content yourself with this one.
I DID wonder if the formula on the Dior might be a little smoother. This was a little thick, and I don't think the long paddle Insta-Dri brush helped. Maybe if the bottle and brush stem weren't so tall, it would be easier to work with. Take your time in between coats because that brush stem is a PITA, but that's par for the course with the Insta-Dri line. I wore this for four days with minor tip wear and a chip on one of my peelie-prone fingers.
Man-go Team! (MUST! HAVE! EXCLAMATION POINT!!!1!) is a limited edition Insta-Dri for spring. I found it at my local CVS, but I'm guessing it would be at other drugstores, plus Target, maybe Bed Bath and Beyond, as well as your Kroger or Wegmans or whatever. You know, all the usual places.
Sooooooo, what do you think? I love this color. Add some thinner to my bottle, and I'd wear this again. Definitely a better buy than S-teal a Base, in my book! (But let it be known that I will pounce on Dior Mango if it miraculously becomes available in the future.)
Also, you know what's hilarious about mangoes? Teaching your white friends how to cut them. Oh my God. I've been doing it a certain way since I was little and I'd never given it a second thought until college, when one of my friends asked me if her grocery store mangoes were ripe and if they were, how would she cut them? I think I cackled and said something to the effect of, "OH SURE, ask the Asian girl," but PC or not, jokes like that are how I say hello. I know, I'm a terrible person.
But seriously, do it like this. The middle part is the seed, and you really don't want that.
TOTAL. GAME CHANGER. Amirite?
