The Long Haul: April 2013

I was OK this month. And then I got my tax return and went to Nordstrom. You'll see.

The rules: If I bought other items at one store along with polish, I won't include the tax, just the total amount I spent on polish. Additionally, swaps or anything I bought as a gift for someone else won't figure into this and won't count.

WELL HELLO NOT EVEN JUNE AND I'M ALMOST BREAKING $1K. No wonder no one logs this shit. I hope nothing awesome comes out this summer because I really donut need it.

If I hadn't gotten my tax return, the 4/26 Nordies haul and the 4/27 Wags haul never would have happened. On the other hand, I knocked out some SERIOUS lemmings (NARS MASH!!!!!, Pretty Serious Phantom Planet), so I'm really, really happy about that.

I know I said May would be mostly Orly-centric, but is there anything in particular in this post that you would like to see next month?

  1. I need to post this for my husband so he can realize that $98 is conservative.

  2. I have been doing pretty well on the not-buying front, but I just got a promotion so obviously I will be checking out Llarowe for some indie goodness and mayyyyybe Chanel Taboo, which would be my first Chanel and most expensive polish ever.

Also...look how many discounts and coupons you had! It could've been a lot worse (this is how I console myself, anyway).

    1. Congrats on your promotion!!! :D I just saw Chanel Taboo for the first time in a flattering light (read: NOT department store lighting), so now I want it, too.

Coupons are THE BEST! I console myself by eating leftovers and watching Netflix instead of going out. ;)

  3. I've spent a lot of money on nail polish in the past two weeks, but it was all on indies, so I think it was very worth it. I justify it since I haven't really spent all that much on nail polish this year or this much at one time for that matter.

    1. Good for you! I don't really buy a whole lot of anything else ... I don't wear makeup, I don't go out, and I've cooled it on other areas, so ... yuuuuuuuuuup.

    2. Same with me. I mean, the only thing I really spend my money on besides nail polish are books, but I usually buy cheap used books and I haven't bought much lately.

    3. Pretty much! That's the only way all of this is even remotely justifiable.

  4. This is exactly why I don't tally my purchases, I'd be on a life long no buy afterwards.

    1. Oh, for real. But in addition to tracking spending, I'm also interested in seeing if I have any spending patterns my subconscious isn't aware of!

  5. First of all, nars mash so worth it! Am loving your April 9 rite aid run of death. Must have missed something there? I so spend as much if not more than you so for me please stop this madness so I can be in my blissful ignorance! Hahaha! I don't think people realize just how fast it adds up. I bought all but one of the RBL news.

    1. LOL, the Run of Death was probably because I was sick. I know, this stuff adds up SO QUICKLY.
